Mother-in-law birthday card

Here is a birthday card for my Mother-In_law, I used Crafters' Companion BeBunny for the balloons and gift bag (colored with Spectrum Noir Pens.)  The Birds and flowers were from Paper Smooches Digi-files.  The paper was from Doodlebug Design.  The cake that is inside the popup I fussy cut from a picture.  The 3d box was from Lori Whitlock and flourishes Silhouette.  The slice of cake, small packge and sentiment were K&C Company--Beyond Postmarks.

Love Birds

Paper Smooches “Flirty Frames”, PSFEB_digi_image, coloring Spectrum Noir, Swirls—Silhouette.

After the True Stamps class and the inspiration I decided to try something new.  With the Word “Love” I used an embossing folder to make some dots, funny thing was it was too light, so then I tried putting embossing powder, still no luck so I went back with a darker blue, did the same thing and placed it over the previous stamp…put one of the hearts in the bottom center of the frame and put white embossing powder on it to make it stand out and highlighted with marker. I then attached the birds I colored with foam dots to raise them.  Loved the result of the word Love…THANKS for the inspiration Kim!

To make this card I downloaded the silhouette file and printed the exterior using the blue dots. I then recut the file using the sentiment and the yellow color. I then cut a slit into the back for and area to put a gift card. I attached the 2 layers together using tape. I glued together several layers of pins to make them look bigger. I printed out the words “with love and good wishes” and stamped on the words “ special delivery “, the picture of the onesies, the hearts, and a bottle and taped on the sentiment I printed and put it in the pocket.  I stamped in the word “Baby” below the printed sentiment on the yellow interior.  I decorated the outside as follows: I stamped the work congratulations and embossed it using the powder. I took the lace and attached it to the outside areas of the legs I cut an opening on each side of the word “congratulations” to fit put the tabs in.  I attached blue ribbon over the lace on the side of the legs and then a piece on each side of the slits for the tabs, and then attach the pins that I made layers.  I used iridescent glitter next to the blue ribbon in most areas, on the pins.  I also put Glossy accents on the pins.   I attached a small button hand on the left-hand side by a tab and then the word special delivery in the center to finish the card.  Finally I spayed the inside of the card with glitter mist.

Tip & Tricks: I used an Embossing Plate as a stencil--

Instructions: To make this card I used the embossing paste that I made and covered the cardstock lightly but unevenly, to make a textured look, and let it dry. I applied the Color Box inks and blended them with a sponge. I then took my stamps and stamped the lattice in the background I then took more embossing paste to cover some of the area to make it look ethereal, then used the Butterfly Embossing as a stencil to make the two edge butterflies(which are embedded in the paste) and let it dry.  I then used my markers and colored the two edge butterflies and flowers, and then sponged in more of the Colorbox inks to match the other side. I then stamped on the butterflies and roses in the trellis area used the Spectrum Noir pens to color add more color to the center butterflies and flowers and leaves. The colors are listed above. I then made picket fence and using the embossing paste and Provo Craft stencil. Next, I stamped the words “butterfly kisses” and embossed it with the embossing powder.  I then made a bow at the bottom of the card and placed the flowers behind it. Then I added in a variety of rhinestones and beads for the bodies the butterflies. I used a tape runner to adhere each layer together. For the inside I used the same papers and cut the Spellbinders Die, for outer border I cut it twice and glued them together, for the bottom layer blue I used a glitter pen on the edge to differentiate the layers and used the glitter pen around the edges, on the top and center layer I stamped the sediment on the final piece and attached it using glue Runner.

Instructions:
Tricks:  I designed and drew the pier so it would fit the multi-tier.
Using Sizzix Pop‘n Cuts Multitier 3-D pop-up I cut the papers to make the various layers and cut off the tops to use as contrasts on front and inside of card.  The stamp sets I were: S.W.A.L.K “Best Pals” and  Fiskars “Kids Stamps --My Life” and stamped with Fiskars black ink pad cardstock and colored them. Coloring:

For the pop-out I used leftover plastic from fruit containers. I attached the pop-out to the cardstock using a glue runner then I covered it with the DCWV Halloween stack green and “Oriental” for the sky. I drew and fussy cut a peer and attached that to the front of the large card pop-out. To simulate the lake, I made my own embossing medium, spread it thinly yet unevenly, and let it dry and then colored them with inks from Color Box used a sponge make the water effect for the lake. Took the pieces I colored earlier used tape to attach them.  I cut off the stamped “string” attached generic bakers twine string to the fishing pole and fussy cut the water ripple ripples and placed the string into the center and glued it in the “water”.  I attached the fish to the foremost pop-up and the frog to the thin tall one.
I used Shrinky Dink and stamped the word best in a 3/4 moon with the word “Pals” in the center, and stamped one of the BFF trinkets for the front, spellbinders dies and shrunk them.  I masked the front border of the card and stamped “best” on one side “pals” on the other and taped the large shrink dink between them.  I used the same dies for the front and cut the center out with a scalloped circle and placed the shrink dink behind it
